About The Position

Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) in Washington, DC is actively seeking a Psychiatrist to join our inpatient services. We are currently recruiting for a weekend coverage and PRN position. As a Weekend/PRN Psychiatrist for Inpatient services, responsibilities include initial evaluations and assessments, as well as daily care of patients in the acute program. Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for individuals of all ages facing mental health and addictive illnesses. Our private freestanding psychiatric hospital offers inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency and women’s trauma. With multiple program units in medical hospitals across the D.C. area, we provide psychiatric inpatient, partial hospital, consult liaison, and SNF consultations. Training affiliations and community education programs are integral to our service in the D.C. area. Conveniently located in downtown D.C., we are accessible via Metrorail, bus routes, and major streets and avenues. PIW is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. Requirements

  • MD/DO degree from an accredited program required
  • Board certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry required
  • Licensed to practice in Washington DC or the ability to obtain a DC medical license
  • Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians
  • Flexibility to see all ages as well as substance use disorder
