Requirements

  • MD or DO required. Board certification in Addiction Medicine preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical records required
  • Individual Professional Liability insurance required
  • PT contract position – Up to 10 hours per week (minimum of 2 days a week)
  • Valid, unrestricted Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number
  • Valid Pennsylvania PROMISE number
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience; Work experience in a substance use disorder treatment setting preferred

  • Board certification in Addiction Medicine preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological examinations
  • Promotes the utilization of all types of medication assisted treatment (MAT), Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MAOD)/Medications for Alcohol Use Disorders (MAUD)
  • Work a minimum of 2 days a week; in-person availability required
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings
  • Order and monitor medication and medical care for clients as needed and provide written authorization
  • Review and certify client admissions.
  • Manage client psychiatric care.
  • Review and interpret pre-existing psychiatric examination reports to include but not limited to diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
  • Order and monitor medication and psychiatric care for clients as needed and provide written authorization.
  • Complete and review client documentation contemporaneously in the Company’s electronic health record (EHR) as required, including but not limited to physical examinations, medication orders, physicians’ notes, nursing and biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans and discharge summaries within twenty-four (24) hours and no later than seventy-two (72) hours of service provision.
  • Oversee psychiatric components of programs.
  • Conduct Physician-to-Physician reviews as required with funding/referral sources.
  • Provide consultation for medical and clinical staff, as needed.
  • Meet with the Program Director and Quality Assurance Team and participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives and peer review activities, as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, facility meetings, and conduct education for staff and clients on substance use and mental health symptoms, treatment, and medication.
  • Provide crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate response.
  • Adhere to all applicable Company policies and procedures as well as licensing/ accreditation standards.
  • Maintain valid licenses and current insurance for the length of time this contract remains in place or longer if required by the malpractice insurance carrier to cover losses or potential losses that occur(ed) during the time of this contract.
  • Deliver telemedicine services in compliance with all regulatory entities, as requested.
