About The Position

South Texas Mental Health Associates in Corpus Christi, Texas, is seeking to add a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to our growing mental health team. We provide comprehensive patient-oriented care to address mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia, and more. Join us in 2026 and enjoy a $50,000 signing bonus! The ideal candidate will possess a strong psychopharmacology and behavioral health background, with experience in outpatient settings. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, including those with developmental disabilities and addiction issues. The Psychiatrist will conduct diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the sun shines most of the year in Corpus Christi. The metro area features miles of beaches that are great for surfing, kiteboarding, snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing making it an ideal location for those who love the outdoors. Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible with plan to take Boards within 3 years.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with outpatient psychiatric care settings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
  • Commitment to compassionately providing high-quality patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of two nurse practitioners
  • Completing psychiatric evaluations and discharges during the week (4 per day, on average)
  • Attending treatment team meetings
  • Call is 4 weekdays per month (one per week) and 1 weekend per month
  • Half-day of clinic in the afternoon
  • Psychiatric evaluations for medication management
  • Follow-up medication management appointments
  • Appointment times are flexible and based on provider preference
  • TMS mapping (training provided)
  • Overseeing ketamine program (training provided)
  • Additional weekend coverage for increased pay
