About The Position

Southern Live Oak Wellness (SLOW), LLC is an evidence-based, client-centered behavioral health organization offering PHP, Day and Evening IOP, and Residential Treatment. We provide care across all levels of need in a warm, welcoming environment that meets clients where they are and empowers them to “be the great person they were always meant to be.” We are seeking a Psychiatrist who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate psychiatric care. The Psychiatrist plays a vital clinical leadership role at SLOW and works under the supervision of the CEO. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety, stabilization, and psychiatric well-being of clients throughout their treatment journey.

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia (required)
  • Post-residency experience in psychiatry
  • Strong understanding of documentation standards and regulatory compliance
  • Current CPR certification
  • Clear background check (no felony or substance abuse convictions within the past five years)
  • Proficient in diagnosing and treating conditions including: PTSD, Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders, Psychotic disorders
  • Strong skills in crisis management and stabilization
  • Experience developing treatment plans tailored to individual client needs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric practices and therapies
  • Ability to function effectively in fast-paced, treatment-focused environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs preferred
  • Experience in hospital or behavioral health treatment settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe, administer, and monitor psychotropic medications
  • Provide ongoing psychiatric care for clients with a range of mental health disorders
  • Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to support symptom management and recovery
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure coordinated, holistic care
  • Provide crisis intervention and psychiatric support during acute episodes
  • Support clients with developmental disabilities and other special needs
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff using appropriate medical terminology
