About The Position

Essential Duties: Plan, coordinate and manage the mental health program and services of the facility. Accept referrals for inmate evaluations; make necessary judgments and recommendations. Coordinate mental health referrals to other resources when deemed appropriate. Develop and conduct preventative mental health program inclusive of inmate training, counseling, recreation activities, discipline, orientation and other support services. Provide staff training, both group and individual, in-staff counseling techniques. Prepare and conduct special training programs for staff as scheduled. Maintain and monitor confidentiality of inmates and their files; observe applicable HIPAA rules. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychiatry preferred; must be MD specialty in psychiatry and three (3) years related experience.
  • Must have a license or certification as required by the state of Ohio.
  • Board certified in psychiatry.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
