About The Position

This position is contingent on contract award. This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below: International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Psychiatrist to diagnose, treat, and prevent mental health disorders through a combination of therapy, medication management, and comprehensive patient care. This role involves collaborating with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that address their psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Requirements

  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Mental Health staff who are part-time or full time salaried by the VA for inpatient care duties.
  • Operate and collaborate with physician’s patients.
  • Treat 1C/1D Psychiatry Service - Ward Patients.
  • Admit patients.
  • Diagnose patients.
  • Develop Treatment Plans.
  • Manage treatment performance in a timely manner.
  • Handle Discharge/Transfer processes.
  • Perform all needed medical record documentation.
  • Provide Outpatient Care.
  • Evaluate all new patient referrals with accompanying medical records.
  • Treat severely mentally ill patients.
  • Conduct evaluation disposition E-consult.
  • Provide post-discharge follow-up.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health conditions and history.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Provide ongoing therapy, support, and monitoring to help patients achieve their mental health goals and improve overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric treatments and mental health research.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and management for patients in acute mental health distress.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
