About The Position

Southcoast Behavioral Health Hospital is Dartmouth's leading behavioral health treatment center in Dartmouth, MA. This 192-bed acute care psychiatric hospital offers a range of services, including Child and Adolescent Inpatient Programs, Adult Inpatient Programs, Dual Diagnosis Programs, and Geriatric Treatment Programs, where experienced and compassionate professionals provide superior services to patients with the utmost dignity and respect. At Southcoast, we are dedicated to providing a world-class treatment experience for our patients and their family members, with an emphasis on helping our patients develop the skills and strategies that will allow them to make continued progress in the months and years following their time with us. We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to support our patients receiving specialized psychiatric care. Base Compensation Range: $300,000 - $325,000 depending on experience.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
• Board certification in psychiatry.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
