Responsibilities

• Provides psychiatric and medical services to children and/or adults served by programs of Easterseals.
• Performs biological and psycho-social assessments including psychiatric evaluation, annual psychiatric assessment, physical assessment, and referral.
• Makes diagnoses and develops recommendations regarding treatment.
• Provides for the review and monitoring of consumer medication plans.
• Ensures wellness measures are taken including blood pressure, height, weight, etc. is taken at each Medication Review.
• Provides crisis evaluation of children and/or adults who may be in need of hospitalization or who may need medication to avoid hospitalization.
• Provides certification for the involuntary commitment and hospitalization of adult mental health consumers.
• Assists with clinical supervision and consultation to clinical staff for quality, efficient and cost effective coordination of treatment, continuing care, and support services.
• Participates in court proceedings to provide testimony regarding mental health of consumers as needed.
