About The Position

The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist position at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital involves providing inpatient psychiatric care to children and adolescents. The psychiatrist will manage the care of inpatients, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure quality clinical outcomes. This role includes responsibilities such as overseeing resource utilization, participating in care team meetings, and providing consultative services to emergency departments and medical/surgical floors.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree
  • BC/BE in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • New Mexico Medical License

Responsibilities

  • Cares for child and adolescent patients referred for psychiatric inpatient care.
  • Manages the care of inpatients and collaborates with healthcare professionals.
  • Oversees and is accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes within assigned facilities.
  • Ensures patient and provider satisfaction and develops plans for improvement.
  • Provides input into financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; and personnel issues.
  • Organizes, attends, and facilitates daily care team meetings.
  • Participates in psychiatric staff meetings and quality improvement meetings.
  • Provides real-time feedback to outpatient providers regarding clinical and operational guidelines.
  • Maintains coding and encounter data standards for completeness and accuracy.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of clinical standards for inpatient care.
  • Works with the Medical Director to assure proper provider staffing.
  • Participates in on-call duties in rotation with other staff psychiatrists.
  • Mentors and educates new child and adolescent psychiatric hospitalists.
  • Enhances professional growth through educational programs and workshops.
