About The Position

Under the direction and immediate supervision of the Network Director, The Prescriber provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management in accordance with evidence-based practices and shared decision-making principles.   REPORTS TO: Site Supervisor   NETWORK OR DEPARTMENT: Network 9

Requirements

  • Psychiatrist (MD), an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN/DNP/PMHNP), or a Physician Assistant (PA) with licensure under the applicable Illinois Acts
  • At least one year experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Completion of Quality Behavior Solutions (QBS) Safety Care training, CPR, and First aid (upon hire).
  • Considerable knowledge of the techniques and principles of psychiatric diagnosis and medication management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of correct procedures for Medicaid billing
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to independently diagnose using the DSM 5.
  • Strong command of treating people with chronic mental illness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management using evidence-based practices
  • Determine eligibility for participation in the FIRST.IL program.
  • Manage medical aspects of care, including monitoring for and addressing medication side effects.
  • Conduct suicide risk assessments as clinically indicated.
  • Complete the Clinician-Rated Dimensions of Psychosis Symptom Severity Scale at baseline and at six-month intervals.
  • Monitor and support medication adherence.
  • Provide education to participants and families regarding psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, and medication effects.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) team members to support treatment planning.
  • Participate in DHS learning collaboratives
  • Maintain compliance with applicable Illinois licensure requirements and professional standards of practice.
  • Participates in regular leadership team meetings
  • Maintains service records, database, and statistics.
  • Ensure that all documentation and communications align with Trinity Services’ mission, values, and operational needs.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely manner
  • Handle all confidential information in a professional and secure manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
