About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. The Hospital is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals. Harlem Hospital is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons . To maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. We are currently searching for a dynamic Full time Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our outstanding team. We have immediate openings and flexible schedules. This position has a mix of cases; besides the bread and butter we also serve light pediatrics, obstetric, neuro, orthopedics and plastics. Daily work includes working with NP’s, medical students and residents. Provide psychiatric management for adults, age 18 and up, in an acute inpatient setting Day shift 9am to 5PM Develop treatment plans and manage electronic medical record (EPIC) in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health and other regulations Work with consultants as indicated by patient needs Lead multi-disciplanary inpatient team with a caseload of 12 or less Supervision of NP's and/or Psychiatry Residents Provide clinical supervision to psychiatry residents and medical students Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team in management of complex cases Participate in didactic training programs for psychiatric residents, medical students, psychology interns and other trainees Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities

Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist.
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry.
  • License to practice medicine in the State of New York.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric management for adults, age 18 and up, in an acute inpatient setting
  • Develop treatment plans and manage electronic medical record (EPIC) in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health and other regulations
  • Work with consultants as indicated by patient needs
  • Lead multi-disciplanary inpatient team with a caseload of 12 or less
  • Supervision of NP's and/or Psychiatry Residents
  • Provide clinical supervision to psychiatry residents and medical students
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team in management of complex cases
  • Participate in didactic training programs for psychiatric residents, medical students, psychology interns and other trainees
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $267,900 (board eligible); $278,200 (board certified) based on 40-hour work week.
  • Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
  • The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690 (board eligible) and $450,020 (board certified) , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
