University Health Physicians and University Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our medical staff and to provide psychiatric services mainly at our soon-to-opened North Kansas City - BHAC (inpatient psychiatric unit). This position is a full-time attending psychiatrist who will lead a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychologists, nurses, recreational therapists and medical social workers. There may be opportunity to act as primary collaborating physician with one or more of our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMNHP/APRN) and to receive an additional stipend. If desired, there may be the opportunity to rotate as primary TMC CL attending for that teaching service, and/or to rotate at TMC BHAC leading a teaching service. The hire would will participate in the NKC BHAC call system, approximately 1 weekend per month. There will also be the opportunity to take call on TMC BHAC and CL services for additional pay. Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged. The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, completing a residency in psychiatry. UHP provides a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.
