Requirements

Knowledge of crisis intervention, limit setting and behavior modification required.

Responsibilities

Assists all patients with ADL's.
Performs 15 minute safety checks on all patients.
Performs room checks on all patients.
Assists with keeping the unit clean and neat at all times.
Assists with the admission and discharge process maintaining the safety of the patient.
Assists patients at all meals with their food trays and maintains safety during meal times in the Dining Room.
Performs accu-checks and Vital Signs as needed on patients.
Performs patient care responsibilities as directed by the Charge Nurse.
Intervenes verbally and physically with patients who are assaultive or attempting to harm themselves.
Documents in flow sheets: 15 minute checks, graphics, restraint flow sheets, I&D flow sheets, patient education and diabetic flow sheets.
Assists recreational staff as needed in implementation of activities.
Attends and participates in 75% of staff meetings.
Attends 100% of mandatory trainings and inservices.
