The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position. Provides care to mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, or intellectual disabled patients in the behavioral health unit and participates in rehabilitation and treatment programs. Helps patients with their personal hygiene, such as bathing and keeping beds, clothing, and living areas clean. Takes and records measures of patient's general physical condition, such as pulse, temperature, and respiration, to provide daily information. Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and reports observations to medical staff. Intervenes to restrain violent/potentially violent or suicidal patients by verbal or physical means as required. Leads prescribed individual or group psychoeducation sessions as part of specific therapeutic procedures as needed.
