About The Position

The Stein Tikun Olam Early Connections Program in the Behavioral Health Institute at Children's Hospital Los Angeles provides comprehensive services related to the mental health needs of infants and young children (ages 0- 3) and their families. Services include universal screening and interventions for young children who receive specialty medical care at CHLA (in both inpatient and outpatient settings) and their families. The licensed therapist (psychiatric social worker, marriage and family therapist, or licensed professional clinical counselor) will provide mental health screening and brief intervention for children 0-3 and their families. This position includes the opportunity to work with multiple medical teams across CHLA, develop and implement models for clinical intervention, and deliver clinical services.

Requirements

  • 2+ year clinical experience with children ages 0-3, and their families/caregivers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, Counseling with previous experience in a child, adolescent, or family mental health setting.
  • Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

  • Experience with young children with medical conditions and developmental delays
  • Experience working in fast-paced, interdisciplinary health care settings
  • Training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
