We aim to help psychiatric patients in the community who may also have comorbid medical conditions. As our Inpatient Medical/Psychiatric unit continues to grow, we are seeking like minded individuals to join our highly motivated team. Job Summary: Insight is looking for a compassionate and team oriented Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Psychiatric Staff in order to provide patient care second to none! Top candidates for this position show a willingness to learn and grow, displaying outstanding attention to detail, while showing a desire to deliver the highest quality of patient care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the well-being and care of patients. A Nurse's primary responsibilities include delivering care to patients, administering medications, documenting according to policy standards, providing health education to patients, and working with an interdisciplinary team to create an individualized treatment plan. A minimum of 1 year Behavioral Health experience is preferred. Medical experience is also preferred, but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply!

Requirements

  • Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing and currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing
  • Must be able to achieve CPR certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to show superior patient care

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1 year Behavioral Health experience is preferred.
  • Medical experience is also preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience and familiarity with EMRs is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to direct or provide nursing care
  • Initiates the plan of care and necessary revisions
  • Provides services in accordance with the plan of care
  • Provides compassionate care to psychiatric/behavioral health patients
  • Utilizes de-escalation techniques and supports patient's through crisis
  • Administration of psychotropic and medical medications
  • Works as a part of the treatment team to help patient's achieve their goals
  • Phlebotomy and laboratory requisition
  • Prepares clinical documentation and progress notes for each patient in a timely manner as per company policy
  • Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
  • Informs personnel of changes in the condition and needs of the patient
  • Counsels the patient and family/significant others in meeting nursing and related needs
  • Participates in and presents in-service programs
  • Understands and adheres to established company policies and procedures
  • Processes orders and notifies physicians of patient needs and changes in condition. Completes admission process and discharge documentation.
  • Determines the amount and type of nursing needed by each individual patient
  • Conducts patient care conferences on patients assigned to his/her care
  • Participates in peer review and performance improvement as assigned
  • Gives total patient care as needed, including assistance with ADLs
  • Takes on-call duty, nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
