You will help create and maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic setting for individuals experiencing mental illness and behavioral health crises. This role requires strong clinical judgment, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary treatment team. This is a hands-on inpatient role. Home health psychiatric experience does not meet this requirement.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire (or compact state license eligible for NH practice)
  • No record of pending or prior disciplinary action
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
  • Experience working in inpatient settings (acute or long-term psychiatric care)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Ability to pass State of New Hampshire background requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric and physical assessments
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and monitor therapeutic response
  • Provide therapeutic communication and crisis intervention
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies
  • Delegate and supervise LPNs and CNAs as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and care plans
  • Uphold patient rights, safety standards, and HIPAA compliance
  • Testify in commitment hearings when required
