About The Position

Purpose: The psychiatric provider will provide behavioral health care services to both children and adults in an integrated care center. Job Duties: Responsible for prov iding outpatient care to patients showing a change o r decline in mental status Work independently with other members of the medical or behavioral health team, with entitlements to specific clinical privileges approved by the clinic's Board of Directors Take part in an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care , dental and behavioral health care to employees and patients Perform patient histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments Prescribe medications following the clinic's policy and relevant regulations of the State Consult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of PMHNP Put all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentations Formulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to pa tients and families for disease prevention Ensure smooth communication with other health profes sionals for effective delivery of clinic service to patients Provide consultation to the clinic's nursing and medical staff for impro vement in holistically treating the whole patient , which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinic Provide clinically relevant supervision to other psychiatric providers and social workers. Complete staff employee evaluations , at minimum once yearly. Manage corrective actions with Chief Clinical Officer as needed. Provide onsite behavioral health guidance to all staff in the absence of the Chief Clinical Officer.

Requirements

  • Psychiatric nurse practitioner
  • Masters or Doctorate degree or graduated from accredited physician assistant program with at minimum 3 years post graduate experience in psychiatry.
  • Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, innovative
  • Excellent interpersonal an d communication skills
  • Leadership and organizational skills essential
  • Computer literate preferred
  • Demonstrate sound judgment , decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of medical office prac tices, procedures and equipment
  • Knowledge of problem-oriented record keeping
  • Correct Engl ish usage, spelling and grammar
  • Confidence to communicate and outreach to other community healthcare organizations and personnel
  • Knowledge of c ommunity resources
  • Must possess nurse prac titioner registration in NYS , which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual esp ecially in Spanish is preferred
