About The Position

Monroe Community Mental Health Authority is a community based mental health service organization dedicated to consumers living in Monroe County. We provide individual health services for people with any type of behavioral health concerns such as substance abuse, emotional issues, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to enrich lives and promote wellness. We live out that mission by being an inviting resource that offers in-house, referral, and emergency services, as well as support within the community for those in need. A Psychiatric Prescriber is a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who reports to the Medical Director. Within the physician‑prescriber relationship, the NP/PA exercises autonomy in medical decision‑making and provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The Psychiatric Prescriber provides rapid psychiatric assessment, medication initiation/adjustment, and short‑term stabilization for individuals presenting to the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) under the CCBHC model. Services emphasize immediate crisis stabilization, integrated behavioral and physical health needs, same‑day access, and collaboration with crisis clinicians, nurses, peer specialists, and community partners.
