About The Position

This position provides psychiatric nursing services to clients attending medical appointments through the Achievement Center of LECOM Health's Outpatient department. The nurse conducts initial health assessments obtaining physical/mental baseline data for each client prior to a scheduled appointment with the physician. The nurse manages client appointments and ensures that clients are seen timely, and all appointment changes are handled efficiently. The nurse manages the medical office and the flow of clients to and from physician appointments. The nurse also functions as the liaison for the client and family with the physician, insurance providers, pharmacies, and outside referral sources. This position reports to the Director of Mental Health Services. This is a Monday - Friday role, with no weekend, no on-call or major holidays. Interest in part-time hours will be taken into consideration.

Requirements

  • Current PA LPN Licensure in good standing.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience working in a behavioral health field, with two (2) years' experience preferred.
  • OR
  • Current RN Licensure in good standing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a behavioral health field.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance coverage and consistent access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Mandated Reporter and Safety Care Training within 30 days of hire.
  • Provide clearances with a clean record, free from allegations or findings related to abuse, neglect, exploitation or other criminal acts against children, i.e. Act 33, Act 34 or FBI Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing/health assessments to children.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for services, including treatment planning.
  • Act as a liaison between family members, agency psychiatrists and school personnel regarding medication issues with children.
  • Assist with coordination of treatment with other service providers.
  • Assist families in locating needed resources.
  • Work in an office-based setting alongside psychiatrists and CRNPs.
  • Provide quality care to children with varying degrees of psychiatric and behavioral health needs.
  • Work Monday through Friday; no weekends or major holidays.
  • Some travel will be required to schools.

  • Compensation: LPN starting salary is $20.50 an hour; RN starting salary is $25.00 an hour; with higher pay available based on experience.
