About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide services to the detention patient population for 3 hours per week. Shift Details: 3 hours/week Corrections In-Person (Outpatient) Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning of patients in the medical unit, housing units, and/or via telepsychiatry to evaluate current/past mental health issues Responds to mental health emergencies throughout the facility Collaborates with the Mental Health Clinician regarding patient status and treatment Manages psychiatric medication for patients utilizing MedTrust formulary. When non-formulary medications are required, the psychiatric practitioner will follow established protocols for obtaining such medications Follows all County Policies and Procedures with regard to security and patient contacts Collaborates with HSA, Medical Director, and Medical NP regarding patients as needed Attends mandatory monthly staff meetings and annual trainings via phone or in person Attends quarterly MAC meetings and participates in quarterly P&T calls via phone or in person Follows all PREA guidelines and standards according to the County Sheriff’s office Follows chain of command at all times Treats staff, security, and patients with respect and professionalism at all times

Requirements

  • Must have an ACTIVE, unrestricted APRN license in the state of Oregon with Mental Health Certification
  • Must have at least one year experience
  • Must have a valid DEA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • Correctional experience preferred

Responsibilities
