Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – NP – PMHNP – Adult Ambulatory Services We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health team that provides comprehensive care to individuals facing psychiatric challenges, supporting their recovery through evidence-based treatments and a multidisciplinary approach. In this role, you will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions for adult patients with diverse mental health conditions. You will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and patient-centered care. Other key clinical responsibilities include: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans Provide medication management and monitor treatment efficacy and side effects Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care Offer psychoeducation to patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives Support crisis intervention efforts and risk assessment as needed This is a (30hrs/week) benefits eligible position; with 4 days/or 5days option, including opportunity to work remote (1 to 2 days) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Current NYS Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP)
  • Board Certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably in an outpatient setting
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances in New York
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, evidence-based treatments, and behavioral health interventions
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
