Requirements

  • NYS certification as a mental health psychiatric nurse practitioner required.
  • Excellent emergency response and interpersonal skills a must.
  • Good writing skills and computer literacy needed.
  • CPR/AED/first aid/naloxone certifications or willingness to be trained required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with the mentally ill and/or substance abuse population or other related experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Vaccination preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations of, prescribe psychotropic medication to, and provide medication management for clinically robust clientele.
  • Attend to emergent client clinical needs, such as participating in case conferences and performing crisis intervention.
  • Provide guidance to LPNs when needed.
  • Work alongside other program managers to design and implement program improvement policies, procedures, and other strategic planning efforts.
  • Assist the agency's incident review and training committees.
  • Provide emergency first aid/CPR when needed.
  • Related duties as assigned.
  • Report to VP of Nursing for clinical portion of supervision.
