We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join our team at the McLennan County Jail in Waco, Texas. This is an opportunity to provide meaningful, impactful care where it’s needed most—while practicing at the top of your licensure. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing mental health conditions among the incarcerated population. The ideal candidate is a confident, independent provider with experience in psychiatric care and an interest in serving justice-involved individuals.
Requirements
- Current and active PNP license (Required)
- Ability to work independently in a structured, secure environment
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

- Experience in psychiatric or correctional settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Collaborate with correctional staff and healthcare team members
- Monitor treatment progress and adjust care as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and facility-specific protocols
- Document all services accurately and in a timely manner
