About The Position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) plays a crucial role in providing integrated mental health care to patients. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans while ensuring compliance with program guidelines and regulations. The practitioner will manage patient crises, provide on-call coverage, and support clinical staff, all while fostering strong relationships within the team and with patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing with advanced practice registered nurse through PMHNP degree; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN); or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry or addictions treatment.
• Authority to prescribe psychotropic and controlled medications.
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of Vermont with an NPI number or ability to obtain one.
• Familiarity with Vermont's mental health system and regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of psychiatric assessments and DSM V diagnoses.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interact well with patients and professionals.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and execute restraint techniques.

Responsibilities
