About The Position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) plays a crucial role in providing quality mental health care to underserved populations. This position involves conducting comprehensive assessments, implementing individualized care plans, and managing medication protocols while ensuring compliance with established policies and state guidelines. The Psych NP is expected to provide compassionate care, crisis intervention, and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Psychiatric experience preferred and/or experience in a residential healthcare institution.
• Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice highly desired.
• Must maintain CPR certification and any other required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and implement individualized plans of care.
• Monitor medication and treatment protocols in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Document all relevant patient care issues in progress notes and treatment plans.
• Provide culturally sensitive and age-appropriate care and treatment.
• Participate in the psychiatric on-call schedule if required.
• Adhere to established formulary procedures for therapeutic regimens.
• Support standards of psychiatric care through adherence to policies for admission, transfer, and referrals.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions.
