About The Position

Ally Psychiatry is seeking an experienced and motivated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Montgomery team. This full-time position offers a diverse and rewarding mix of inpatient consults and residential psychiatric care within a well-supported clinical environment. The provider will start each day at Baptist Medical Center East , completing psychiatric consults from the prior night and any new consults as they arise. Following hospital rounds, the PMHNP will provide coverage at Crisis Residential Units (CRUs) in the Montgomery area, visiting each site needed for new admissions, medication adjustments, or patient follow-up. Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing. Those six years are composed of a 4-year undergraduate nursing program followed by a 2-year nurse practitioner master's program that includes psychiatric nursing.
  • Must have or pursuing a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Prior experience in providing mental health counseling services within a clinical setting
  • Must possess a State License to practice Nursing and it must be in good standing.
  • Must possess the knowledge base in health promotion maintenance, advanced pathophysiology, advanced health assessment and pharmacology for advanced practice nurses.
  • Must possess the following concepts: individual and family psychotherapy, psychiatric-mental health nursing across the lifespan, advanced assessment in psychiatric-mental health nursing and psychopharmacology.

Responsibilities

  • Daily hospital consults at Baptist East
  • Coverage of 3 Crisis Residential Units (CRU's) (each visited twice weekly)
  • Additional CRU coverage as needed for admissions and medication management
  • Call: one night per week and one weekend per month
