About The Position
A facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner for locum tenens coverage. This position is designed for a three-month assignment, with the possibility of extension based on performance and facility needs. The clinician will be responsible for managing a variety of psychiatric cases, including but not limited to ADHD, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. This role is full-time, requiring 40 hours of work per week, with flexible shift options available to accommodate the provider's preferences. Shifts can be scheduled as 10 AM to 6 PM, 8 AM to 4 PM, or 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a work-life balance that suits the clinician's lifestyle. The clinician's daily responsibilities will include conducting initial evaluations, which typically require 1.5 hours of face-to-face interaction with new patients, as well as performing medication checks that average around 30 minutes each. The facility utilizes the Evolve electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and patient management. Credentialing for this position generally takes about a month, contingent upon the provider's recent Child Abuse and FBI clearance status. The clinician will have a manageable caseload of approximately 10-15 patients per day, supported by a psychiatrist on staff, and will work with a diverse patient population of all ages. It is important to note that prescriptive authority is not required for this position, making it accessible for nurse practitioners who may not have this credential.
