About The Position
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric services within post-acute and residential care environments. This role offers a structured schedule, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to work with a stable adult and geriatric patient population in a non-hospital setting.
Requirements
- Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Active, unrestricted state license
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with care teams
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric psychiatry is a plus
- Prior experience as a Psychiatric RN or Psychiatric NP in a residential or institutional setting is a plus
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and routine follow-up visits
- Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans for chronic mental health conditions
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices
- Collaborate with nursing staff, medical leadership, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Communicate effectively with patients and family members regarding care plans
- Provide patient-centered, trauma-informed psychiatric care
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
