As a part-time PMHNP, you will: Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth Formulate accurate, evidence-based diagnoses Treatment Planning & Medication Management Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications Monitor effectiveness and adjust treatment as needed Provide brief supportive therapy and psychoeducation Integrated Care Collaboration Partner with therapists and care teams to ensure coordinated treatment Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EHR Uphold all ethical and professional standards At Backpack Healthcare, this isn’t just a part-time role — it’s an opportunity to expand access to psychiatric care while maintaining the balance you value.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program
  • Active, unrestricted Maryland PMHNP license & DEA
  • Board Certification (PMHNP-BC)
  • Experience with or passion for working with youth and families
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Comfort practicing in a telehealth environment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
  • Formulate accurate, evidence-based diagnoses
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
  • Monitor effectiveness and adjust treatment as needed
  • Provide brief supportive therapy and psychoeducation
  • Partner with therapists and care teams to ensure coordinated treatment
