Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Outstanding Benefits  401(k) & Employer Contribution | Predictable schedule | Generous PTO | Accessible Medical Directors Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Summary  Part-Time (.6 FTE) | Monday-Friday only, no weekends. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH-NP) functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, provides diagnostic and therapeutic health care to patients in Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, Assisted Living, Independent Living environments, in our Janesville, Madison, Mt. Horeb, Watertown service areas.

Requirements

  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH-NP)
  • Valid DEA.
  • BLS certified.
  • Experience completing psychiatric examinations in accordance with accepted standards of care.
  • Experience developing psychiatric treatment plans and providing medication management.
  • Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
  • Strong clinical skills

  • Problem-solves and uses resources well independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric care to various and/or specific patient levels- adults/geriatric.
  • Expectation to see approximately 16 patients per day, travel to multiple facility sites
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations.
  • Assess and diagnose patients suffering from mental illness disorders and/or dementia.
  • Establish and document reasonable medical diagnoses.
  • Order pertinent diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing for the medical diagnosis or presenting symptom.
  • Accept feedback and direction from the supervising physician.
  • Create and implement a medical plan of care.
  • Participate in collaborative clinical meetings.
  • Prescribe medications as appropriate.
  • Perform timely documentation and billing.
  • Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
