About The Position

The Psychiatric Medical Assistant will work as part of an integrated team focused on psychiatry and addiction treatment. This role involves coordinating care for patients with substance use or mental health disorders, performing various medical support duties, and ensuring accurate documentation and patient interaction.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (Required).
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred).
• CPR Certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work as a part of an integrated team (psychiatry and addiction) to coordinate treatment for patients.
• Interview patients and document basic medical history.
• Screen patients and document vital signs and urine drug screening results.
• Schedule appointments.
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.
• Administer injections.
• Update patient charts within an EHR with accuracy.
• Complete prior authorizations for medications prescribed within the clinic.
• Contact patients to address treatment concerns.
