About The Position

This is a hybrid position, located at our Jollyville, Georgetown, and Online locations. Psychiatric Intake Specialist (Part-Time) Reports To: Medical Director Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week) Compensation: $75/hour Assignment Focus: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to serve as our Intake Specialist. This role is vital in assessing the clinical needs of new patients, determining appropriate level of care, initiating treatment recommendations, and coordinating with the broader behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical acumen, excellent communication skills, and experience in psychiatric evaluations.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Active license in the State of Texas
• Strong understanding of DSM-5 diagnoses, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment approaches
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in using EMRs and telehealth platforms
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with behavioral health levels of care (PHP, IOP, outpatient)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric intake assessments via telehealth or in person
• Evaluate patient history, presenting concerns, and current mental health status
• Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria
• Determine appropriate level of care (e.g., individual therapy, IOP, PHP, medication management)
• Initiate preliminary treatment plans and coordinate initial referrals or service assignments
• Communicate clearly with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient onboarding
• Document all evaluations and clinical decisions in the EMR in a timely and compliant manner
• Participate in team meetings and case reviews as needed
• Maintain appropriate licensure and adhere to ethical and professional standards
