About The Position

Devereux/TCV Community Services is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and responsible individual to join the treatment team as a Diversion & Acute Stabilization (DAS) Psychiatric Counselor. In this role, you will work with other dedicated professionals to improve the lives of adults with mental health and other disabilities, specifically those facing behavioral health challenges. The position involves encouraging individuals to meet recovery goals, monitoring their well-being, teaching wellness strategies, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social/human services, or related field, required.
  • 18 years of age or older required.
  • Agree to a PA state criminal history, child abuse record and FBI Clearance.
  • Agree to a pre-employment drug screening, one-step TB and physical.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in social services with adults with behavioral health disorders, highly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Encourage individuals to meet their recovery goals, i.e., actively participate in treatment and therapeutic activities to enhance their lives.
  • Monitor individuals’ physical and emotional well-being, use de-escalation and emergency techniques, when necessary.
  • Develop and teach strategies to promote wellness and independence.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team including but not limited to psychiatrist, therapist, nurses and service coordinators.
