Job Description: Psychiatric Counselor - Per Diem The Psychiatric Counselor is responsible for milieu management, patient assignment, checks and leading groups in our 20 bed adult psychiatric services unit. Must possess verbal and written skills to communicate effectively and courteously with a diverse group of professional and non-professional members of the health care team, patients and family/significant others. Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • verbal and written skills
  • BLS certification required
  • Ability to train 2-3 days per week within first three weeks of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field or equivalent experience is preferred
  • At least one year of experience working with psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting is preferred
  • C.P.I. Certification provided during orientation program
