About The Position
The Psychiatric Care Technician-Advanced (PCT-A) position at the Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and wellness of the community by supporting mental health interventions for justice-involved individuals. This role is an excellent entry point into the operations of a secure treatment facility, where employees will receive comprehensive classroom and on-the-job training. WRC, located in Winnebago, is the largest psychiatric facility in Wisconsin, specializing in the treatment of individuals with severe mental health conditions referred by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and the community. The center has been recognized for its commitment to high-quality resident care, having received the National Commission on Correctional Health Care's 2022 Facility of the Year award. As a PCT-A, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the facility and its residents. You will assist in implementing individual care plans, promote respectful behavior among residents, and supervise their transfers on and off the unit. The position also includes opportunities for professional development through classes, workshops, and seminars aimed at enhancing employee skills. The starting pay for this position is competitive, with additional increases based on years of service, and employees are expected to work various shifts, including evenings and nights, with a mandatory 9-week training program at the beginning of employment.
