About The Position

Our Behavioral Health Unit is a team orientated unit working together to make a positive impact on our patients. Our dynamic, tenured team works to assess, monitor, and educate patients and their families on treatments and medications for mental illness. You will be an integral part of a team of Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Mental Health Technicians, Rehabilitation Staff, and Physicians. ----- Schedule: Multiple shifts available 8 hour shifts; 7AM-3PM; 3PM – 11 PM; 11PM – 7 AM. Every other weekend, every other holiday

Requirements

A valid RN license
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Current NYS RN License

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in behavioral health preferred
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
Relevant skills certification (i.e. ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned

Responsibilities

Assessing and evaluating patients to determine symptoms and risk factors
Keeping a close eye on vital signs and responding when needed
Providing patient education and helping with patient advocacy
Administering medications as prescribed by physician
Providing detailed documentation for care
