Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, Maine has a current vacancy for a Psychiatric Social Worker II. This position is open to current Maine DOC employees as well as outside applicants. MDOC is destigmatizing corrections for the betterment of all Maine communities. We facilitate restorative justice practices that equip justice-involved youth and clients with the skills they need to become contributing members of society upon release, including treatment, education, and job training. The Division of Juvenile Services in Maine is dedicated to ensuring the successful transition of all Maine youth into adulthood. To support our mission, we are seeking dynamic professionals with a strong drive and ambition, along with a great attitude, well-developed integrity, and strong ethics as a Psychiatric Social Worker II. This position collaborates with other members of the treatment team, including family and guardians, the juvenile probation officer and other treatment providers critical to a successful return to the community. You will be involved in rehabilitation and adjustment of justice involved youth who may have, or have had, serious mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Work is conducted in an institutional setting, with frequent contact with families and community organizations in individual plan development.
