About The Position
Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services. Website: www.kingwoodpines.com Click here for a virtual Facility Tour Position Summary The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience required.
- CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors.
- Direct milieu management.
- Provide assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status.
- Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
- Document nursing care, treatment, and patient's response to treatment
- Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
