About The Position

Grand Strand Medical Center is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) for night shifts. This role involves providing clinical expertise to ensure high-quality, efficient care for patients. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to creating positive patient interactions and will work collaboratively with a committed team to support each other in delivering excellent patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associates Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
• 1-3 years' experience as a registered nurse is preferred.
• Behavioral Health Experience is preferred.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Nice To Haves

• Registered Nurse Diploma
• Advance Nurse Practitioner certification.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care, and arranging testing and admissions.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients' records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Incorporate knowledge of patient's age-specific development and cultural diversity into the plan of care.
