Psych Mental Health Tech/Part-Time
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our healthcare team at University Behavioral Center, located in Orlando, Florida. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patient care practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care to psychiatric patients. This individual will be working closely with patients experiencing psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while promoting recovery and rehabilitation. Previous experience working directly with patients in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is highly preferred. This is a PT position (Sat-Sun 11a-11p)
Requirements
- High school graduation. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Must have at least one year of experience working in an inpatient hospital setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+.
- Work hours: 12-hour shifts; day or night shift available; rotating weekend
- Experience with behavioral health patients is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care principles is beneficial.
- Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills.
