About The Position

Porch Light Health provides comprehensive care and support for individuals affected by substance use disorders. Our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinics combine evidence-based practices with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative environment for both patients and team members. We are seeking a Psychiatric Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for psychiatric services. This role delivers direct patient care, mentors providers, ensures clinical excellence, and supports a multidisciplinary care team. The position is central to improving patient outcomes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and advancing organizational growth.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with active, unrestricted license in Colorado/NM or advanced practice degree (APRN, PA, or equivalent) with active, unrestricted license
  • DEA registration required
  • 7+ years of clinical experience in psychiatry or addiction medicine
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, mentorship, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in healthcare preferred
  • Experience in in-person and virtual care; interventional psychiatry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead psychiatric services across all clinics, serving as a clinical resource and mentor.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain psychiatric policies, protocols, and best practices.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and strategic projects to align psychiatric care with organizational goals.
  • Promote team morale, accountability, and a culture of inclusion and collaboration.
  • Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients receiving care.
  • Prescribe and monitor MAT medications in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and peer support teams to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Monitor provider performance and patient outcomes, leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, documentation standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of efficient, patient-centered clinical workflows.
  • Stay current with clinical research, treatment guidelines, and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and development opportunities for providers.
