About The Position

The Patient Service Specialist (PSS) in the Call Center is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients by managing appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations across multiple providers and specialties. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling both incoming and outgoing calls to facilitate patient appointments and follow-ups.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • All related education and experience must be within the last five (5) years.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of medical, insurance, and legal terminology.
  • 1+ years' customer service experience in a related field.
  • 1+ years' experience in medical appointment scheduling.
  • 1+ years' experience in insurance verification.
  • 1+ years' experience in billing/payment processing.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming calls and make outgoing calls to schedule or reschedule appointments.
  • Schedule appointments based on physician referrals and hospital discharge instructions.
  • Manage appointment requests via the Patient Portal on behalf of patients.
  • Provide general directions to callers regarding facilities.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
