PSRC Battery Lab Technician Position
About The Position
We seek a motivated electrical technician to start forming the next generation of Motorola Solutions experts in rechargeable energy technology. This technician will provide opportunities to develop expertise in theoretical and experimental product and cell compliance testing, with exposure to rechargeable battery design and characterization. The Motorola Solutions cell technology and safety lab features state of the art testing equipment, data acquisition machines, thermal chambers, G-shock tower, Vibration Tables, microscopes, resistance welder, and hoods to conduct construction analyses of cells and battery packs. Under the supervision of Senior Electrical and Mechanical engineers, the technician will receive hands-on experience with lab equipment, learn fundamentals of lithium ion cell technology, battery design and critical aspects of lithium charging safety. Requirements
- Ability to solder components
- Comfort with the use of a resistance welder
- High School Diploma
Nice To Haves
- Use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DC bench supplies, multi-meters etc.
- Knowledge or experience with lithium-ion battery design and associated circuits
- Knowledge or experience with lithium-ion charging systems
- Knowledge or experience in DC power regulation and distribution.
