About The Position
The Arc of the St. Johns, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Counselor to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals in our program, focusing on enhancing their social skills, vocational skills, and independent living skills. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in fields such as counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related social services field. Alternatively, candidates with a valid Certified Behavioral Health Technician certification will also be considered. As a PSR Counselor, you will lead group sessions aimed at educating individuals on various life skills. Your responsibilities will include facilitating discussions, providing support, and ensuring that participants are engaged and benefiting from the program. You will also be responsible for completing necessary documentation and paperwork related to the program, which requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and creativity are crucial in this role, as you will need to adapt your approach to meet the diverse needs of the individuals you serve. This position is on-site and operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. The PSR staff not only run counseling groups but also assist in supervising the overall program throughout the day.
