Job Description: Responsible for managing all complex GL Flex and PCX deals in scope from Sales Stage 4a through to customer acceptance and project closure. The Internal Program Manager is the single point of engagement for Sales teams for the identified opportunity and remains as the HPE Operations contact point over the opportunity lifecycle. Once the Internal Program Manager is assigned, they will facilitate and coordinate early engagement of HPE Operations teams in support of the opportunity. This will include the assignment of the Account Service Manager, Lead Delivery Solution Architect, Lead Project Manager and HPE Operations leads. The Internal Program Manager will organize regular coordination calls with Pursuit Deal Managers, HPE Operations and Delivery Leads and serve as the SPOC on overall deal status across Day -1 through to Day 2. Importantly the Internal Program Manager will escalate early if the opportunity is not progressing to schedule or plan. The PSD Deal Coordinator is an expert in project management and proficient with creating and maintaining work breakdown structures including parent/child relationships, durations, predecessors, and successors. Likewise, proficient use of issue, action, risk and decision logs as a control tool for each project. The PSD Deal Coordinator will use various tool including Smartsheet as the primary system of record for deal tracking and updates. Active deal status for timely updates, and if required early escalation as required. This Executive Dashboard will be used to support visibility and reporting. The Internal Program Manager organizes regular coordination meetings with Geo/Country sales to prioritize and update status of deals in scope. The role requires continuous updates in Deal Navigator, Smartsheet, and dashboards, coordination of governance calls, with Deal Coordinators, Pursuit Deal Managers, Delivery Leads and Account Operations Managers (AOMs.). Once a deal moves through phases Day 0, 1 & 2, the Internal Program Manager ensures project status is continually updated, risks and key dependencies are highlighted and assigned to correct owners. The Internal Program Manager must demonstrate strong orchestration and stakeholder management skills across Sales, Delivery, and Operations. Success in this role requires the ability to manage ambiguity, drive accountability across functions, and maintain a structured cadence of updates and escalations. The Internal Program Manager must be adept at navigating complex deal structures, ensuring timely risk identification, and aligning delivery readiness with customer expectations. The Internal Program Manager has strong articulation and communication skills, able to inform and activate operational and executive levels. The Internal Program Manager must demonstrate judgement, courage, and confidence to escalate quickly if they see project or schedule risk that threatens HPE’s commitments. Expert is project management methods and tools including waterfall and agile methods.

Requirements

  • High level English language proficiency both oral and written.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert skills in Project Management based on PMI framework or other recognized organization.
  • Basic understanding of the interoperability of delivery functions within a solution (Hybrid Cloud, A&PS, OS, MS, HPC, Aruba, Greenlake).
  • Understanding of the SSDG process.
  • Basic knowledge of architectures.
  • Knowledge of risk relationship to deal margin (prevent margin erosion).
  • Good understanding of E2E dashboard, project updates and escalation process.
  • Effective coordination in place for the Geo/Country.
  • Timely updates in Deal Navigator, Smartsheet, and other dashboards.
  • Effective Delivery Engagement in place with HPE Operations, PSD and MS

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SPOC across Day -1 to Day 2 for all complex deals within scope
  • Coordinate all GL Flex and PCX deals within complex deals defined scope
  • Review proposed opportunities daily and key resources are assigned by HPE Operations and Delivery Stakeholders within agreed timeframes.
  • Align, assign, and activate Early Engagement for HPE Operations and Delivery teams and OEMs on deal basis for during Day -1.
  • Ensure all identified Delivery Leaders, Lead Delivery Solution Architects, Project Managers and Account Operations Managers are added to the extended team to access deal artifacts.
  • Coordinate deal governance calls with Geo and WW Pursuit Leads, CXO Deal Coordinators and AOMs to prioritize and align on the active deal statuses
  • Secure proper handover and information for a successful Start Right session and respective testing and acceptance of Day 2.
  • Maintain a continuous up to date Active Deal Status content for all prioritized complex deals.
  • Timely escalation when any opportunity appears at risk, off plan or off schedule.
  • Ensure visibility and reporting through Deal Navigator, Active Deals SharePoint and Executive Dashboard as the primary system of record for deal tracking and updates
  • Collaborate with Sales, BU, Fulfillment, and Planning teams.
  • Collaborate with the HPE Operations and Delivery teams managing the deployment and services to the customer.
