Responsibilities Position Overview: The Intensive Outpatient Clinic ( IOC ) at University of Utah Health is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.) or Clinical Mental Health Counselor (C.M.H.C.) to provide professional counseling services to a population of individuals with complex medical and psychosocial needs. Providing comprehensive and integrated care, the IOC operates as an interdisciplinary team of medical and behavioral health providers aiming to improve clinical outcomes and decrease the overall cost of care for the population we serve. In 2023, Governor Cox’s One Utah Health Collaborative recognized the IOC has as leader in novel comprehensive care delivery and sustainable financial innovation. The IOC was also featured in Meet Me Where I Am – a short film that premiered in the 2022 Sundance Film Festival – that tells the story of one IOC patient and how this clinic provides unique integrated care. This position provides direct therapy and works collaboratively with the medical and behavioral health teams to deliver comprehensive care oriented around treating the bio-psycho-social needs of the IOC patient population. Therapy activities include individual and group counseling. At minimum, the ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of trauma and substance use disorders. Case management experience is preferred. The IOC exclusively serves a Medicaid population and operates under a capitated model with the University of Utah Health Plans. No billing is required. This position reports to the IOC Medical Director and will support the IOC patient population and the clinic team located at the University of Utah Population Health Center near Rose Park.
