About The Position

SUMMARY: The PRV Branch Manager is responsible for leading all operational, technical, and commercial activities for the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) service branch. This role oversees day to day shop operations, field service execution, quality and compliance programs, customer relationships, financial performance, and team development. The Branch Manager ensures the facility operates in full compliance with ASME, NBIC, API, and company quality standards while delivering safe, reliable, and profitable PRV services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operational Leadership - Oversee daily operations of the PRV service branch, including shop workflow, field service scheduling, and resource allocation. - Ensure all PRV testing, repair, and certification activities meet ASME Section XII, NBIC Part 4, and API requirements - Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient facility aligned with company standards and regulatory expectations. - Manage inventory, tooling, calibration programs, and test bench readiness. Quality, Compliance & Certification - Serve as the branch’s primary owner of the VR/T O Quality Program. - Ensure strict adherence to NBIC, ASME, and API standards. - Maintain documentation, traveler packages, repair reports, and certification records. - Coordinate audits with the Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) and support joint reviews. - Drive continuous improvement in quality processes, corrective actions, and technician competency. Financial & Business Performance - Own the branch P&L, including revenue, margins, labor utilization, and cost control. - Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and performance targets. - Identify growth opportunities in the Permian Basin and surrounding markets. - Manage pricing, quotations, and commercial strategy for PRV services. Customer & Market Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including refineries, midstream operators, chemical plants, and industrial facilities. - Provide technical support and consultative guidance on PRV applications, sizing, and compliance. - Respond to customer needs with urgency and professionalism. - Represent the company at industry events, audits, and customer meetings. Team Leadership & Development - Recruit, train, and develop PRV technicians, field service personnel, and support staff. - Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and competency assessments. - Ensure technicians are trained in NBIC, ASME, API, and internal procedures. - Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational discipline.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in PRV testing, repair, or industrial valve services.
  • Strong working knowledge of NBIC Part 4, ASME Section XIII, ASME Section VIII, API 520/521/576, and related standards.
  • Experience managing a VR or T/O program (preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience in an industrial service environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, documentation, and audit processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with an Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA).
  • Background in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or midstream operations.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.).
  • Technical certifications in valve repair or inspection.
