This is starting out as a contract position running through July 2026 with strong potential to extend longer or possibly convert to FTE. Role Summary This role supports enterprise cybersecurity engineering and operations with a primary focus on proxy security solutions and sandbox technologies as part of a Broadcom replacement initiative. The engineer will manage, operate, and support proxy-based security controls, malware defense, and host-level security technologies across core infrastructure platforms in a regulated enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years overall IT experience
  • 2+ years cybersecurity experience
  • 2+ years infrastructure experience
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Proxy security solutions (FortiProxy preferred)
  • Sandbox technologies (malware detonation / threat analysis)
  • Host-based security & endpoint protection
  • File Integrity Monitoring (FIM)
  • Malware detection & defense tools
  • Linux (RHEL), IBM AIX, Windows Enterprise, macOS
  • Vulnerability & patch management
  • Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • SSCP required within 180 days of hire, or relevant cybersecurity / technical certification as defined by the hiring manager
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent related experience

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, implement, and support proxy security and malware defense solutions
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate security alerts, proxy events, and incidents
  • Manage configurations, policies, and operational activities for proxy and security tools
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams on security capabilities and support
  • Support upgrades, migrations, DR activities, and security hardening initiatives
  • Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge base content
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation, audits, and compliance activities
  • Provide training and operational support to team members on security technologies
