The Provider Scheduler ensures shifts are filled and all assigned locations are adequately staffed according to the staffing needs of the hospitals and patient volumes. The role involves working closely with managers and staff to ensure all vacant shifts are filled and clinics are adequately staffed according to budgets and patient volume. The position is Work From Home (WFH) and candidates must live in the Central or Eastern time zone.

  • Build monthly schedules based on the allowed staffing hours.
  • Revise and update schedules as required or needed according to volume trends.
  • Have knowledge of staffing policies and procedures.
  • Run reports to ensure each employee is scheduled according to their classification.
  • Calculate budgeted hours and determine the number of FT employees needed.
  • Contact part time and PRN staff for their availability at least a month in advance.
  • Work with clinic managers to schedule new staff once they have been released from orientation.
  • Maintain and work open shift report.
  • Ensure vacant shifts are filled by making calls and enlisting help from the operations management team.
  • Follow up with appropriate individuals regarding concerns with open shifts.
  • Help staff with shift swaps.
  • Communicate continuously with managers regarding issues and concerns.
  • High School Diploma
  • Healthcare experience - office or clinical setting
  • Provider scheduling experience; highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
